Tartan Day 2009

Tartan Day would have to be our biggest day of the year, and most certainly, the busiest! This fantastic day is generally held on the first Sunday of July each year (please check the website of Aussie-Scots for the correct dates), at Southbank, Brisbane. This huge day sees us taking the entire mascot team so we can participate in everything asked of us throughout the whole day. BeBe, who is as pretty as a picture when all dressed up in her kilt, was introduced to the crowd at the tender age of almost 15 years of age, where she just pranced around for her little display. BeBe then just relaxed for the rest of the day, enjoying the constant attention and pats by the crowd. Lucy was next with her display, and as always, was cuteness plus! Next was our "trainee" lead mascot, Darcy, who made us proud with his improvement, wonderful character, and his beautiful manners! Last out was our "lead mascot" - Audrey! Beautiful as ever, and so very talented! This little girl is always thinking for herself, and of course, thinks of her next mischievious move to upstage her handler. Audrey is extremely entertaining, and just has to be the absolute crowd favourite! The mascots do their own performances, then they share the rest of the duties for the day with leading the huge massed bands and the massed band boardwalk along part of the Brisbane river, walk-arounds to mingle amongst the crowds, and several impromptu displays. As always, there were hundreds of photos taken by the crowd, with some being used at times in our web-site - thankyou Caithe! A fantastic day, followed by a very early night for our mascots and handlers!
